10 hours

I would say my schedule is completely back in full swing, which means my blogging has gone downhill mucho. Damn Damn Damn. I really wanted to stay on top of things too!!

Quick updates. I had my orientation for work on Tuesday evening in which I signed a confidentiality agreement saying I wouldnt blog about it. 🙂 I start my first shift tonight from 6:30pm-10:30pm.

Wednesday night was The Pretty Reckless show at Santos Party House. Riley and I met in line and had drinks at the bar while waiting for the show to start. I took quite a few pictures that I think turned out really well. Ever since Aaron showed me how to mess with the settings on my little Cannon Powershot SD1100, my pictures have come out a lot better. I wore my thrifted denim vest and £11 Primark velvet dress with black tights and my doc martens.

The show itself was really fun. It was funny for me to be having a drink since I have never actually seen live music with an alcohol buzz. I actually saw Olivia, my next door neighbor from Seattle, who now attends FIT as a freshmen in fashion design! Such a small world! I had no idea she was going to be at the show too! The first opening band was called A Thousand Horses and they all had this amazingly long sexy hair. I love me some tall boys from Tennessee with long long hair. Yummy! I quite enjoyed their set and will be looking into them further. The second opening act was called Runner Runner (or something like that). They were straight up pop rock and did not curry a lot of favor with the Pretty Reckless crowd at all. They were definitely opening for the wrong band. Later after the show, Riley and I lingered for a bit to see if Taylor Momsen would come out. We did spy some of her Gossip Girl cast members and a woman who was clearly her mother, but we were sleepy and gave up before Momsen came out. I also got a secret thrill when the lead singer of the silly pop rock band was clearly eying me for a hot second.

My roommate’s mother has been staying with us the past few days because she flew to NYC for Fusion. Fusion is the fashion show competition with several design students from both Parsons and FIT. I have never actually attended Fusion before and am really excited to see what my roommate has been slaving away on. It’s on Saturday night at 8pm. Anyways its been kinda nice having a mommy around. She bought us cupcakes from Crumbs bakeshop and even vacuumed for us!

Yesterday I left my internship briefly to go to an interview at FIT. This was my first ‘post grad position’ interview. I think I could have done a lot better considering I knew the company very very well. I didnt say anything stupid, but I dont think I dazzled my interviewer either. I shot her a thank you email about an hour ago.

The title of this entry comes from the fact that I fell asleep at 10pm last night and slept a solid 10 hours. It felt amazing. Today has been a busy errands day and I am going to catch up on some chores, blogs and news before going to work. Ta ta for now!

  1. I feel like a bit of a celebrity seeing myself on the blog hahaha. Those Taylor Momsen pictures turned out so well!! They look awesome..dramatic lighting is the best every time.

Yay for new jobs! There must have been something about yesterday because Siara and I also fell asleep instantly last night and slept for so long today…I don’t know what that was about. Exhausting week I guess.

Have fun at Fusion and take pictures of Leslie’s pieces!
